CricViz are delighted to announce the extension of our analytics partnership with the Desert Vipers in the International League T20. The Vipers, owned by Lancer Capital, are one of six teams in the new T20 tournament that will be played next January in the UAE. CricViz have already played an integral role in shaping the squad, announced in August. Now, CricViz have formally extended the partnership to cover the season itself and will be providing on-site and remote support to the Vipers.
CricViz’s Head of Performance Analysis Freddie Wilde will continue in his role as a Strategic Consultant for the Vipers, working remotely but in regular contact with Director of Cricket Tom Moody and Head Coach James Foster around selection, strategy and tactics. CricViz will also be providing analyst Kieran Parmley who will be working on-site with the Vipers, arriving at the start of January and staying for the duration of the tournament. Kieran will be involved in intricate match-day planning, working closely with the coaches to formulate specific batting and bowling plans for opposition teams.
This deal is the second time that CricViz have worked closely with Moody, extending the relationship formed at the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. ‘We’re delighted to have CricViz on board as our analysis partners in ILT20,” explained the Vipers’ Director of Cricket. “Their input in assembling our squad was invaluable and the combination of data analysis and insight during the tournament will help us prepare for matches in the best way possible.”
“The good use of data is central to T20 strategy and I look forward to working with the CricViz team, they will be a key part of what is a brilliant Desert Vipers support staff,” added Foster.
